Premier League: Ederson Moraes' Goalkeeping Lapses Set Man. City Up For Defeat To Man. United
Manchester United claimed a well-deserved win over Manchester City in a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford that sealed their first double derby triumphant over their next-door neighbors in a decade in the Premier League.
Martial Anthony and Scott McTominay delivered the two goals that led United through but the second goal was gifted away by City's goalkeeper Ederson Moraes' error for throwing the ball in Scott's path for him to lob into the net from 30-yard.
Ederson was more or less to blame for the opener from a brilliant finish by Anthony despite contested against by Sergio Aguero, but it was obvious there were lapses in his form during the game. Later, he nearly gifted another goal away to the Frenchman for wasting time on the ball in the box.
It should have not ended in a clear defeat for City had Aguero's goal counted, unfortunately, the VAR ruled he was in an offside position when Raheem Sterling through ball got to him for a fast break.

United leapfrogged to the fifth position as they maintained unbeaten run through 10 games for their second-longest run under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. The Norwegian's longest was his first 11 games unbeaten run upon his appointment in 2019.
Odion Ighalo came into the game with two minutes left to play as a sub for Bruno Fernandes who created the chance for Anthony to score the opening goal by lobbing a free-kick over City's fence for him to catch up with and finish.
Having lost the game, City have definitely conceded defending the Premier League title to Liverpool, and with two wins, Reds should be ok to lift the trophy as the champions for the first time since 1989/90.
