Manchester City's Pep Guardiola Donates €1M Towards Tackling Covid-19 Virus Outbreak

Pep Guardiola has donated a million euro (£920,000) towards tackling the Covid-19 virus pandemic which has left nearly all European cities on lockdown as a measure to curb the spread.

Spain is one of the biggest hit by the virus with nearly 3,000 deaths recorded and about 40,000 infected. Italy remains the bug's new epicenter centre after death toll past that of China - the origin of the outbreak.

It is understood that the money will go towards helping a campaign supported by the Medical College of Barcelona with the procurement of necessary medical facilities needed by the country's medical centres in the fight against the spread of the virus.

Amongst players that have dominated at least €1m towards tackling the coronavirus pandemic is Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich).
