Paul Pogba Rolls Out Fundraiser To Tackle Coronavirus On 27th Birthday

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has just turned 27-year-old on Sunday, in spite of that, he is joining the fight against COVID-19 virus by launching a fundraiser on his official Facebook page.

The Fifa World Cup winner has not been able to make any appearances for United this year following an injury that has left him inactive and will reportedly remain on the bench for the rest of the season. Yet, he is linked to Juventus and Real Madrid but United are keen on keeping him at Old Trafford.

"It's my birthday and I'm always grateful that me, my family and friends are healthy," he wrote. "Nonetheless, not everybody is in good health right now. The Coronavirus pandemic is affecting the health and lives of many, including children."

Pogba planned to use the fund raised from the page to provide materials needed by health workers in the frontline fighting the virus and chosen double the amount raised when it reaches £27,000. The amount raised so far is lesser than £5,000.

He wrote at the end of the statement, "If we manage to reach our target, it will be enough to provide: 333,332 pairs of disposable gloves for health workers + 2,777 surgical masks to help prevent the disease spreading further + 9, 615 sets of vented goggles."
