Juventus' Players And Coaching Staff Agree To Take Pay Cut For Four Months
Juventus have announced its players and coaching crew will see a drop in wages paid to them for four months following the Covid-19 pandemic which has forced league games to be suspended all across Europe. This, the club confirm will affect the first team only.
The club reportedly reached an agreement with the players and their coaches on changes that will be made to their wages and that will take effect from March through June. after this period, the decision will be reversed.
Juve said in a statement, "Juventus Football Club S.p.A announces that due to the current global health emergency is preventing the performance of the sporting activity, it has reached an understanding with players and the coach of the First team regarding their compensation for the residual portion of the current sport season."
Also confirmed in the statement released by the club, was that the agreement between the parties will save the club a whopping €90 million which will help boost the club's financial year report for 2019/20. The management promised to negotiate with the players and coaching staff on compensation on the resumption of the season.
It added, "Juventus would like to thank the player and the coach for their commitment at a difficult time for everyone."
