Ighalo Odion To Get Loan Deal Extension With Manchester United

Manchester United are making changes to Ighalo Odion's loan deal as they are considering extending its expiration date initially set for May 31 to a new date following the Covid-19 virus outbreak.

The extension is believed to be for a month and potentially until June 30 for the Nigerian striker, who has been impressive since his arrival at Old Trafford in January. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer also confessed that there is an improvement in the team with him in the front in his comment after United's 5-0 win over LASK in the Europa League first-leg tie,

Nonetheless, he may yet remain at Old Trafford longer than that as United may trigger the clause to retain him. Shanghai Shenhua, where the 30-year-old was signed from, do not seem like one that would resist an offer from Red Devils anyway.

Ighalo has until 2021 in his contract with the Chinese club from which he receives £300,00-a-week wages - United contribute £130,000 towards his wages weekly. To sign him to a permanent deal, United will have to meet up with Shanghai's price tag of £15 million.

As things are with United presently, they are linked to Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - also linked to Barcelona. To sign the Gabonese forward, United will have to shell out £50 million before Arsenal will agree on a deal for the striker.

Aubameyang as already known is set to leave Emirates Stadium in summer should an offer be made for him. However, Arsenal are also not naive on his desire to leave after showing no interest in extending his contract which expires in 2021.
