Harvey Weinstein Sentenced To 23 Years In Prison For Rape

What a sad day for Harvey Weinstein who will be spending 23 years behind bars for a conviction for rape accusation leveled against him by six women.

For two years, Harvey has been battling with the allegations of being a sexual predator and first-degree rape, the two felony sex crimes were downgraded to sexual assault and third-degree in February, yet he bagged 20 years for his aggressive sexual crime and three years for rape.

The lead prosecutor, Joan Illuzzi, argued that Harvey should be given a maximum prison sentence for the conviction because, "He saw no limit to what he could take, no limit to what he could grant himself," but the judge handling his case, Justice James Burke, explained that: "although this is a first conviction it is not a first offence."

Harvey, 67, was accused of sexual crime by more than 13 women but only six of them, Miriam Haley, Jessica Mann, Annabella Sciorra, Tarale Wulff, Dawn Dunning, and Lauren Marie Young, were present in the courtroom.

Speaking after the court ruling, one of the victims Ms. Haley said, "He had crushed a part of my spirit. If he was not convicted of rape and sexual assault by this jury it would have happened again and again. I'm relieved there are women who are safer because he is not out there."
