Fast and Furious 9 Gets New Release Date
Vin Diesel's oncoming Fast and Furious 9 has been forced to have a new release date and there is no other reason for it but the COVID-19 virus pandemic that is taking its toll on every country in the world.
FF9, which initially, was meant to be released in May 2020 will not be screening this year at all. F9 got a year-long push back with a new release date set for 2 April 2021.
With regards to the changes made to the FF9 release date, Universal said in a statement that ensuring the safety of everyone comes top on its priorities and thought it best to have the film released next spring.
"We are moving the global release date to April 2021, with North America opening on April 2," the statement reads. "While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration."
Just last week, the studios also postponed the release date for James Bond film No Time To Die after calls for the change by some fans that it should consider the safety of its fans now that coronavirus is spread around.
