Euro 2020 Rescheduled Until Next Summer Over Coronavirus Pandemic

Unfortunately, Euro 2020 will not be held this year as the Norwegian FA announced the postponement of the competition until next year's summer over coronavirus pandemic.

Likewise, most European leagues have been suspended over the fears of fans, staff, and players contracting the virus which has spread all over the continent without an exemption. So far, the outbreak has claimed over 1,800 lives globally with the biggest number of casualties recorded in China and Italy.

The Norwegian FA revealed in a tweeted statement on Tuesday that the 24-team competition which was meant to hold this year in 12 countries across Europe has been rescheduled to 11 June - 11 July 2021.

"UEFA has decided that the European Championship is postponed to 2021," the tweet reads. "It will be played from 11 June to 11 July next year. More information coming."

Many other major sporting events such as ATP Tennis Tours and the Formula One Racing Grand Prix have also been rescheduled. The organizers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are reportedly deliberating on rescheduling the Games over the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
