Chelsea Roll Out £85M Bid Plan For Leon Bailey
Frank Lampard is hoping to give Chelsea the required boost in the frontline with the introduction of a new winger, Leon Bailey, from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Chelsea did not participate in the January transfer window despite the lifting of a transfer ban served last summer them for breaching the financial fair play rules in December. Blues' manager, Lampard, has been nursing an interest in Bailey for his impressive performance, especially in the Europa League games.
Besides Blues, the Jamaican player is also linked to top-flight clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich already sticking up their hands for the player, but it is understood that Bailey stands to make a Premier League move as Bayer are not keen on selling to another rival team in the Bundesliga.
Bailey is deemed to fit in the role player by Willian who already knew chances are he be leaving Stanford Bridge in summer when he will be out of contract with the club and likewise Pedro. There are no indications that Chelsea will be offering both players a contract extension in summer.
Meanwhile, Willian already had a plan and has mentioned Arsenal and Tottenham as one of his preferred moves because he would like to remain in the capital city, London.
However, with a transfer plan of £85 million, Chelsea are poised to secure a deal with the 22-year-old, but it might be early to say that since other interested clubs are yet to make known their transfer plan for the Bayer star who three more years left in his contract.
On Thursday, Bailey wrapped up the victory for Bayer in 3-1 win over Rangers in the Europa League last-16 first-leg tie. That brought his goal tally to 24 for the side he joined from Genk in 2017.
