Two European Top-flight Clubs Are Lining Up To Sign Jesse Lingard
Manchester United might soon lose its Jesse Lingard to two European giants if they failed to secure a contract extension for the attacking midfielder.
Whilst Lingard counts down to contract expiration with United with 18 months left with a one-year extension option, ESPN learned that Atletico Madrid and AS Roma are already in the lineup to sign him in summer should talk between him and United fail to yield results.
Left to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he would like to keep Lingard at Old Trafford but he is reluctant to stay following a series of racial abuses targeted at him, not only on the pitch but also on social media.
Making the top-four of the table does not seem feasible for United, who drew 0-0 against Wolves on Saturday to drop to the seventh position behind Tottenham and Sheffield United.
United's key forward Marcus Rashford is out on back injury and newly-signed Bruno Fernandes could not turn the tide on his debut against Wolves but his impact was felt during the game.
