Premier League: Chelsea Beat Tottenham To Maintain Top Four Race
Tottenham did not stand the chance to leapfrog over Chelsea to be in the top four of the Premier League after losing 2-1 to Blues at Stanford Bridge.
Spurs may yet secure a place in the top four as Uefa's two-season ban given to Manchester City means that they are out of the Champions League race. Still, they stand being overtaking by Sheffield United and Manchester United and that means they might slide down to the seventh position.
Olivier Giroud smacked a left-footed shot from inside the box to give Blues the lead just after a quarter of an hour of player and the lead doubled after the break by Marcos Alonso drilled a shot home after an exchange of passes between him, Ross Barkley, and Mason Mount.
