Manchester United Chief Executive Declares Confidence In Ole Gunnar Solksjaer To Deliver Long-Term Success
Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward is unwavering on his confidence in the club's manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer with the belief that he has built the right foundation that will somehow deliver long-term success for the club.
Solksjaer may be nowhere near delivering the Premier League for Red Devils, yet his men are still in the race for FA Cup and also the Europa League title which they last won with Jose Mourinho in 2016-17. Presently, they are vying for a place in the top four which will secure a place in the Champions League for the team following two-season European competitions ban Manchester City are to serve.
Throwing his weight behind the Norwegian manager, Ed revealed that the club's plan is to finish strong in the Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup" with the hope that their new signings and newly promoted from the academy will make significant contributions to ensure they have long-term success with Solksjaer.
"We have continued to make progress on our squad rebuild, with many changes in terms of players that we brought in and players that have come through our academy; the foundation for delivering the long-term success that we are working towards," he said.
Amidst this, Red Devils recorded a 12% slump in revenue in the past six months which is believed to be largely caused by the team's absence in the Champions League. The club announced a total revenue ranging between £560m and £580m.
