La Liga: Barcelona Close Gap With Real Madrid After Win Over Real Betis
Barcelona closed the gap with Real Madrid in the table after claiming a 3-2 win over Real Betis with Clement Lenglet delivering the victory for the side.
Both teams played 10-man for the later part of the game but Barcelona had to come from behind to win the match, meanwhile, Betis had led from sixth from a penalty converted by Sergio Canales and Nabil Fekir restored the lead after Frenkie de Jong leveled the scoring for Barca.
Sergio Busquets equalized the lead for Barca on the brink of half time and Lenglet scored the winning goal minutes before he was dismissed for second yellow card offensive after Fekir had been sent off.
Besides Barce dropping out of Copa del Rey in the semi-final after losing 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao, they have issues with a dispute between Lionel Messi and sporting director Eric Abidal over an allegation leveled against the team by the club's senior official.
