Jurgen Klinsmann Resigns From Hertha Berlin

Former Bayern Munich boss Jurgen Klinsmann unexpectedly resigned from his role as Hertha Berlin just 10 weeks after his appointment former head coach Ante Covic in November.

The 55-year-old, who was appointed after losing five games in a row, left the side in the 14th position of the Bundesliga. Hertha crashed out of the DFB Cup in 3-2 loss to Schalke 04 last Tuesday and also lost their last home league game by 3-1 to Mainz 05 on Saturday.

To the amazement of the club's fans, the club announced Klinsmann's resignation in a tweet on Tuesday and it reads as: "Jurgen Klinsmann has stepped down from his role as head coach of Hertha BSC with immediate effect."

Klinsmann thanks everyone at the club including the fans in his statement after stepping down and wish his successor will do his best possible to avoid leading the team to relegation.

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to all players, fans, spectators, coaches, and colleagues at Hertha BSC for the support, encounters, and exchanges in the past ten weeks," said the former German international and Fifa World Cup winner.

"As a head coach, I indeed need the support of all the people involved in this task to complete it. Especially in the relegation fight, unity, cohesion, and focus on the essentials are the most important elements."
