Filming Of Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible" Suspended Over Fear Of Coronavirus

Tom Cruise and the production crew of the oncoming film Mission: Impossible 7 have reportedly decided to suspend shooting of the film following the spread of coronavirus in Italy where they are meant to be shooting of scenes.

The outbreak of the contagious infections has left about seven victims dead with more than 200 infected in the country. Presently, Italy is the worse hit by the virus after South Korea and China which is the epicenter of the deadly infection.

Paramount Pictures confirmed the break in the film's production in a statement reported by Hollywood Reporter stating that the reason for their decision was based on the "safety and well-being" of their team.

A statement released by the studios read, "Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and effort of the local Venetian government to half public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice."

This development might cause a change in release date for the film which is scheduled for screening in the cinemas on July 23, however, Paramount did not mention that in the statement but are monitoring the virus outbreak closely.

Paramount added in the statement, "We will continue to monitor this situation, and work alongside health and government officials as it evolves."
