Europa League: Odion Ighalo Scores First Goal For Manchester United In Victory Over Club Bruges

Manchester United have sealed a place in the Last 16 of the Europa League having won their second-leg tie against Club Bruges by a massive 5-0 (aggr. 6-1) with newly-signed Odion Ighalo marked his European game debut with Red Devils with his first goal.

The Nigerian international joined the side from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua on transfer window Deadline Day after United failed to get a deal with Bournemouth for Joshua King. Ighalo finished off Juan Mata's through ball from close range with a tap in for his first goal for United.

Ahead of Ighalo, Bruno Fernandes had scored the opening goal by converting a needless penalty conceded by Bruges' Simon Deli who dived to handball McTominay's goal attempt. McTominay later scored the third just before the halftime whistle.

United's Brazilian player, Fred, late into the game, wrapped up the scoring with two goals within 10 minutes to seal the victory for the side - the second goal came in the added minutes.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer coasts to winning his first title with United in the competition which was last won by the side under Jose Mourinho in 2017. They are currently in the fifth position in the Premier League which if maintained guaranteed the place in the Champions League following Uefa ban on Manchester City for two season.
