Chelsea Reach Agreement With Ajax For Hakim Ziyech's Move In Summer
Frank Lampard could not make any signing for Blues since his appointment last summer for a transfer ban the club was served, and when it was lifted in December, he made no signing except that Ziyech has been top on his priority since the last window.
After a deal has been agreed, the 26-year-old is Chelsea bound in summer and according to a statement released by the Dutch side, the deal is worth £33.3 million (€40m) with the potential of rising to £36.6 million (€44m) but he will complete the remaining part of the season but jetting off.
"Ajax and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Hakim Ziyech," the statement reads. "The player will join the Premier League club on July 1st, 2020 and will finish the season in Amsterdam. The clubs have agreed a deal of €40 million euros. This sum could potentially increase to a maximum of €44 million, with variable factors."
The Morrocan player is believed to be the suitable replacement for Eden Hazard who the club wanted to fill the gap left off the squad by him since his move to Real Madrid last summer.
