Bafta 2020: 1917 Takes Lead With Seven Awards


Michael Ward definitely had a night of his career to be announced as the winner rising star award at the 73rd annual Bafta ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday.

Michael won the prize for his role in 'Toy Boy' - a thriller series screened on Netflix. He was contended against in the category by Awkwafina, Kaitlyn Dever, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Jack Lowden. However, making the most of the event was 1917 which made away with seven awards.

Joaquin Phoenix did not miss out at the event taking home the best lead actor for Joker which won a total of three and Parasite also squeezed into the list with two awards.
