Andy Murray To Undergo Surgery, Worries About Missing Grass-Court Season
It does not seem like Andy Murray will be returning to action any time soon this season, even if he does, it is not certain participating in Wimbledon following his pelvic injury resurgence.
Since his first hip injury operation, the Briton had seen a tremendous drop in his performance, leading to a massive plummet in his world ranking. He did make a stunning comeback the hip resurface surgery at the European Open last year when he won his first tour-level title since 2017.
The former world number one is yet to participate in any tournaments in this season and will have to consult with his medical team before deciding on when he will be making his return.
Murray revealed during an interview that he is unsure of what the issue really is but what he planned doing is to carry out a couple of tests in the next couple of week, otherwise, he will have to be operated on.
"I have not had lots of clarity as to what the issue actually is because it is difficult to tell," he said. "I should know by the end of next month whether I'm good to play or not with it."
He also acknowledged that going for another operation might spell doom on participating in the grass-court season which definitely will mean being ruled out of Wimbledon.
"If I wasn't able to have it (operation) until May or whether, with six to eight weeks' rehab, then that would mean missing that period (Wimbledon)."
