San Antonio Spurs made away with the 121-117 victory on the road to Pelicans and it was the night Zion Williamson finally make the long-awaited NBA debut but did not have enough time to make a difference as the visitors made a run to victory.
The 19-year-old appearance could only be fantastic to watch as he connected four straight three-point attempts in the fourth quarter, he was really worth the number one overall pick in last year's draft. Many believe he has the potential to be the newly-discovered LeBron James.
Nevertheless, the former Duke Blue Devil player was ruled out of past Pelicans games over a knee injury, yet on his historic NBA appearance, he notched up a double-figure scoring of 22 points, seven rebounds, and two assists to lead the stats for the side.
Speaking after the match, Zion described his debut as a "dream come true" and thanked the team supporters for cheering the team on every shot despite the defeat.
"The energy the crowd brought, it was electric. It was a dream come true to finally get out there," he said. "But at the end of the day, I did want to win so I'll look to the next game.
Following the teenager in the stats was former Lakers player Brandon Ingram who added up 22 points, three rebounds, and two assists while LeMarcus Aldridge led the standouts with a double double scoring of 32 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists.
