Rapper Sues Ariana Grande Over '7 Rings', Alleges She Ripped Him Off
Ariana Grande is facing a lawsuit from a hip hop artist for her 2019 hit song '7 Rings' with the claims that she blatantly sampled a track that he released in 2017.
Comparing the two songs, the accuser Josh Stone, claimed that the catchphrase, "I want it, I got it," is straight away a rip off from his track "You Need It I Got It" featuring Tony Yayo in which he used the phrase, "You want it, I got it."
Stone also claimed that one of Ariana Grande's producers Tommy Brown at Universal Music Group - a record label that published Grande's song - also known about his track when he released it and likewise some executives at the label, according to TMZ.
Well, Stone is not asking for a little but that the court to stop the song being aired again and that he be paid the proceeds from the song since she ripped him off.
