Prince Harry Breaks Silence On Stepping Down Royal Duties

Prince Harry has opened up on his decision to step down alongside with his wife Duchess Meghan Markle as senior members of the royal family and wanted the public to understand that for him, it has been a "privilege" to serve his country and he will always "lead a life of service".

The decision made by the Duke and Duchess has cost them bearing the royal title of HRH in the public as they go solo from royal duties but yet will retain the title in their name which will take effect from April according to a statement released The Queen on Saturday.

"It has been our privilege to serve you, and we will continue to lead a life of service," Prince Harry said during a visitation to a charity he founded. " I will always have the utmost respect for my grandmother, my commander in chief, I am incredibly grateful to her and the rest of my family, for the support they have shown Meghan and I over the last few months."

In the lengthy speech given by the Prince at a private dinner for the charity Sentebale in Chelsea, he clarified that the United Kingdom will always remain the country he loves but the decision was not one he made lightly, however, it is to the best interest of his family.

He added, "For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this. The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges."

"And I know I haven't always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is we're not walking away, we certainly aren't walking away from you."
