Premier League: Sergio Aguero Scores 12th Hattrick For Manchester City In Win Against Aston Villa

Manchester City leapfrogged to the second place in the EPL table behind leaders Liverpool after claiming a massive 6-1 victory against struggling Aston Villa with Sergio Aguero scoring a hattrick.

Riyad Mahrez started the goal campaign exploiting Villa's debutant Danny Drinkwater's defensive lapses to give City the lead earing into the game. Besides that, it took City 10 minutes to crush Villa's defense as both Mahrez and Aguero scored three goals before half-hour of play.

Mahrez was set off for the first goal in 18th minutes as Aguero's pass got through to him and smacked the ball home after taking out Drinkwater. He added the second when Daniel Silva snatched off Drinkwater and let the ball to Mahrez and with ease beat Nyland to the goal for City's second goal.

Aguero drilled a 20-yard shot to beat Nyland for the third goal in the 28th minutes after Kevin de Bruyne let a pass to him and Gabriel Jesus ran in for a through ball from Bruyne for a tap in to make it fourth goal late in the first half.

Bruyne created his third assist that set off Aguero for the fifth goal and Kortney Hause's error gave the ball away to Mahrez who pass the ball to Aguero and he finished for the sixth and for his 12 hattricks at City. However, Villa got a consolation goal in the injury from a penalty drawn by Mahmoud Hassan and converted by Anwar Ghazi.

The Argentine forward finished the game extending goal tally in the Premier League to 177 to become the highest-scoring non-British player and upset the previous record set for the feat by former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry (175).

In addition, the goal margin is the biggest conceded by Aston Villa since 2016 against Liverpool and they remained in the 17th position with 21 points and City now trail Liverpool by a 14-point margin.
