Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Decides On Future At Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has chosen to commit his future to Arsenal and will not be leaving the club this January despite speculations of links to top-flight clubs outside of the Premier League.

Inter Milan and Barcelona are rumoured to be interested in signing the Gabonese player, who has 18 months left in his contract with Gunners but has not been willing to accept an offer from the club extend his contract, yet he wants to stay with newly-signed manager Mikel Arteta.

"The Englis press likes to talk a lot. For now, I'm here. I'm 100% here," he told RMC after Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 on New Year's Day for their first league game victory under Arteta.

Gunners have not been finding this season easy as they struggle to stay in the top-four for a chance to make a Champions League appearance next season and their dwindling performance was a key reason for former head coach Unai Emery's dismissal. The former Italian manager only lasted for a season and a half at Emirate stadium before he was shown the exit door to be replaced by Arteta.

Speaking on how the team loses games to their opponents in a comeback that wipes off their lead from the first half, the team captain Aubameyang admitted they have been struggling to hold on to leading a game especially after the break and revealed that they are working to that lapses in their performance.

He added, "At the moment we are suffering a little bit to maintain the intensity we had in the first half. I think it will come, it is part of the process, the way we train, but at the moment we don't have much time to do so."

Paul Pogba did not start with Manchester United in the 2-0 loss to Arsenal for an injury and his agent Mino Raiola is keened on the Frenchman leaving for a club that plays in the Champions League.
