Olivier Giroud Set To Leave Chelsea, Agrees To Deal Terms With Inter Milan

Chelsea stand to lose Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan in this window as the Frenchman has agreed to deal terms with the Italian side for a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Inter are making most of this window to sign as many players, especially from the Premier League as they could in a race to the Italian Serie A title victory which they last won in 2009/10. Besides Giroud, Manchester United's Ashley Young and Tottenham Hotspurs' Christian Eriksen are also lined up to move to the club.

Having said that, Inter has Chelsea's fee demand for Giroud to meet if they will secure a deal with him. Blues are understood to be asking for £6-8.5 million whilst they are ready to £4.3 million for the forward.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard thinks what is best for Giroud is to remain at the Stanford Bridge but if he chose to leave, that will only be possible if what Inter offer is "right for everybody".

"With Oli the situation is if it's right for everybody - first and foremost that's the club because he's under contract," said Lampard. "I think his agent has spoken to the club. But until we decide it's the right thing then it's not done."

The 33-year-old contract runs until summer when he will be available to leave for free or signed to a contract extension. He joined Blues from Arsenal in 2018 and has a record of 19 goals in 70 appearances.
