Italian Serie A: AC Milan Fail To Win Against Sampdoria On Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Debut

Sampdoria held AC Milan to a goalless draw at home despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic's debut on his return to the club he once played for (2010-12) before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain.

Milan dominated the game over their opponents but they were very close to getting a goal as Theo Hernandez cleared into safety Manolo Gabbiadini's goal attempt saved by goalkeeper Gianluigi before Ibrahimovic was introduced in the second half to replace Krzysztof Piatek in the 55th minute.

Ibrahimovic stamped his impact on the game with two-headed chances but was denied putting Milan ahead as Emil Audero saved his header and the second attempt was kicked off the line into safety.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 56 goals in 85 appearances for AC Milan in his first stint

Meanwhile, in the first half, Sampdoria had a goal cancel for an offside positioning of Jakub Jankto who finished a goal chance from inside the box following a fast break.

Before the Christmas break, Milan was thrashed by Atalanta who claimed a massive 5-0 at home against them. Today's goalless draw leaves Milan drifted away far from the top four as they are 12th in the table with 22 points.

Zlatan had a record of 56 goals in 85 appearances in competitions with Milan in his first spell during which he won with the club the Italian Serie A title (2010-11) on loan from Barcelona and the Supercoppa Italiana (2011-12) when he was retained permanently.
