Inter Milan Confirm Newly-Signed Left-Back Ashley Young From Manchester United
Inter Milan has finalized move for Ashley Young from Manchester United in a six-month deal with an option for contract extension at the club.
Young left Old Trafford despite having six months remaining in his contract and since he rejected extension offer from United, there are no options for United than to release rather he leaves as a free agent in summer.
Announcing his departure, the 34-year-old wrote in a tweeted message accompanied by a picture from the Italian side, "To the United fans: every time I walked on the pitch wearing your shirt I gave you my all. Thank you for your support during the high and the lows. I leave as one of you, see you again in an away end soon."
United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer admitted the club could keep the left-back after he rejected their offer and they are can not afford to give him two years extension considering his age.
"He is 35 in the summer," said Solksjaer. "If he gets a two-year contract somewhere, I think it's up to him to take that. We weren't ready to offer that."
