Edinson Cavani Ask To Leave Paris Saint-Germain, Links To Atletico Madrid Move

Edinson Cavani will soon be amongst players who will be leaving their club for a future in a new team as he is confirmed to have handed in his request to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG sporting director, Leonardo, confirmed the player's desire to leave Parc des Princes and that talks are already ongoing with the new team that he is linked with for a move in this window.

Atletico Madrid is the new team Cavani is linked to and the club's executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin is already pressing for a deal with the Ligue 1 side's executive according to Sky Sports.

Leonardo revealed that left to PSG, they would prefer that he stayed but he demanded to leave the club instead and they have received a proposal from Atletico for his move to La Liga.

"We've always said the same thing. We were hoping he would stay with the club, but today he asked to leave," said Leonardo who also mentioned that what they received is not "commensurate" with the 33-year-old's value.

Leonardo did not mention anything about the club's price tag for the striker neither what the La Liga side is offering for the player the signed for £55million from Napoli after a loan stint at the club.
