Premier League: Southampton's Danny Ings Sinks Spurs With Stunning Finish


Danny Ings' sensational finished delivered the 1-0 victory for Southampton against Tottenham as they claimed their fourth successive league wins in a row to move up to the 11th position in the table.

Harry Kane could not finish the game for a leg injury but had got in a goal which VAR disallowed for being in an offside position and Saints had their turn when they protested against Toby Alderweireld for a handball in the box but was ruled out by the referee after verifying with VAR.

Nevertheless, Ings' finish was magnificent which he did when Jack Stephens connected him with a through ball from their middle of the field for a fast break and he did just brilliantly by lobbing the ball over Alderweireld and volleying the ball home in the 17th minute.

Spurs celebrated a New Year's Day with a loss for the first time since 2009 Jose Mourinho joined in on the list of yellow offenses for having a conversation with Saints' coaching crew while the game was on-going. 

Spurs remained in the sixth position and are closely followed by Wolves and Sheffield United. However, Mourinho's second away defeat with Spurs since replacing Mauricio Pochettino.
