Chelsea Target Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani In This Transfer Window
Chelsea are yet to make their first signing since the lifting of the Fifa transfer ban and are reportedly PSG's striker Edinson Cavani in the transfer window as he counts down to his contract expiration in summer.
Blues joined the race to sign the Uruguayan despite link to Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid as they are yet to make their first signing since Frank Lampard took over the management of the club from former head coach Maurizio Sarri in summer.
In the midst of this Blues stand to lose their French striker Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan as the player has agreed to personal terms with the Italian side for a contract that will see him earn £5 million per year according to Goal.com. However, the 32-year-old will be a suitable substitute for the Frenchman who already has fallen out of favour with the team's manager Frank Lampard.
However, PSG was understood to be planning to make an offer for Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang should Cavani leaves the club, but the Gabonese player is not ready to leave Gunners this season.
Speaking about the Uruguayan availability for the team against Lille, his manager Tuchel said, "He has been training with us for the past few days, but the situation is not clear for him either. And for that, he will not be available for tomorrow [against Lille]."
