ATP Cup: Novak Djokovic Leads Serbia To Lift Trophy After Doubles Victory Over Spain


After forcing deciding doubles against Spain, Novak Djokovic led his country Serbia to win the Inaugural ATP Cup final by beating Spain by 2-1 in Sydney.

Rafael Nadal pulled of participating in the final stating that his energy was too low after playing a long semifinal match against Alex de Minaur and was replaced with Feliciano Lopez. The world number lost 6-3, 6-4 to Djokovic in singles final.

Novak and Viktor Troicki delivered for their home team to claim straight sets victory 6-3, 6-4 victory against Team Spain led by Lopez and Pablo Busta.

"I will remember this experience for the rest of my life," said Djokovic. "I've been very fortunate and blessed to have an amazing career but playing for your country  with some of my best friends, you can't match that."
