Ashley Young Snubs Manchester United One-Year Contract Extension Offer

In an attempt to keep Ashley Young at Old Trafford after his contract expiration, Manchester United offered the player a one-year contract extension but that will not deter him from his ambition to leave for a new club in summer.

Young is strongly linked to Inter Milan who are offering him an 18-month contract on the expiration of his contract with United in summer. Should the left-back sign to a deal to the Italian giants, he will be the third player from United that Antonio Conte has shoveled out of the team after Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, both who left in summer.

Though the England international has already dropped in the pecking order at United and his struggling to get game time like he would, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has work to do in his team as players like Paul Pogba is keen on leaving and Harry Maguire is to spend time on the bench for an injury sustained from goalless draw in the FA Cup game against Wolves.

Still, United are keeping the hope of making the top four of the Premier League alive as they are fifth in the table trailing Chelsea by five points but closely followed by Tottenham and Wolverhampton by just a point difference.

Back to Young, the 34-year-old spent full time on the bench in the team's 3-1 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday in the first leg of the EFL Carabao Cup semi-final. Instead of him, Solksjaer Brandon Williams on the left-back and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right.

As things are at the present, United might not be able to keep Young longer than summer when he will be due to leave the side and might be set to join Conte who has since his days as Chelsea Manager been interested in him for a deal signing.
