2020 Grammy Awards: Billie Eilish, DJ Khaled And Nipsey Hussle Make List of Winners
It was an emotional night for most people if not all at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony at Staples Center following the death of former L.A Lakers player, Kobe Bryant, in a helicopter crash in Calabassas, Los Angeles on Sunday. Sad, enough, the two-time NBA MVP was traveling with his daughter Gianna and seven others.
Alicia Keys did pay tribute to the deceased in her stage performance at the ceremony and speaking to the audience she said, "Right now Kobe and his daughter Gianna and those that have been tragically lost today are in our spirit, they're in our hearts, they're in our prayers."
Billie Eilish wins four awards |
However, Billie Eilish picked up a prize in five categories - song, new artist, record, and record of the year to go home with five awards while Nipsey Hussle was remembered and won an award for 'Racks in the Middle' for the best rap performance of the year.
DJ Khaled who just welcomed his second son with his wife Nicole Tuck also made the list winning the rap/sung performance of the year for his collaboration with late Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, "Higher".
