2020 Critics' Choice Awards: Ava DuVernay's 'When They See Us' Takes Two

Ava DuVernay joined in on the list of winners at the Critics Choice Awards as her film "When They See Us" won an award for best limited series and Jharrel Jerome won the best actor in a limited series or movie made for television.

The 47-year-old missed out at the 2020 Bafta Awards and that sparked outrage condemning this year's ceremony for not nominations other stakeholders of ethnic minorities background.

Amongst top winners at the ceremony held on Sunday at the Barker Hangar, Santa Monica, California, was 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' which won the best picture, Joaquin Phoenix who won the best actor for his role in 'Joker', and '1917' and 'Parasite' tied up for best director.
