West Ham Sack Head Coach Manuel Pellegrini
West Ham have sacked head coach Manuel Pellegrini just after the team lost at home by 2-1 to Leicester City for their fifth defeat in five league game.
Pellegrini has until 2021 before running out of contract with Hammer but club's joint-chairman David Sullivan said in a statement his dismissal is necessary to restore the "ambitions" they have for the team this season.
"It is with great disappointment that we've had to make this decision," Sullivan said. "It has been a real pleasure to work with someone of his calibre."
Explaining what led to the action the taking against the Chilean manager, he added: "However, it has become clear that a change is required to get the Club back on track in line with our ambitions this season."
Pellegrini joined Hammer in a three-year deal from the Chinese side Hebei China Fortune and had led Hammer to 17th position before he was sacked. Despite his performance at the club, he was a high achiever at Manchester City which he managed for three seasons (2013-16) and won the Premier League title and two EFL Cup with the club.
