Rod Stewart Is UK's Oldest Male Artist To Top Album Chart

Sir Rod Stewart is nearly 75-year-old and still going strong in the music industry as his latest album 'You're In My Heart' earned him the top spot of the UK album chart.

According to the Official Chart Company report, the newly released single scored 750 more in album sale than Robbie William and The Who to clinched the top spot. In effect, that made him the oldest male singer ever to top the chart in the United Kingdom.

"A new government and a new number one for Sir Rod. Thank you once again to my legions of fans who I will never take for granted. Bless you all and a Merry Christmas," he said.

Stewart released his 30th solo album 'Blood Red Roses' last year and in the first week scored him ninth #1 spot on the album chart in the UK.
