Premier League: Willian's Double Hands Chelsea Victory Over Tottenham

Willian delivered two brilliant strikes to give Chelsea victory over Tottenham as the team consolidates on their top-four positioning with four points clear closest team Sheffield United.

Spurs chances of fighting back got a huge blow when Son Heung-min was red-carded in the second half, leaving Blues who were already in the lead to make away with the victory and Jose Mourinho's second defeat in six league game since his appointment.

It was yet another goalkeeping error that cost Spurs the second goal after Willian had put Blues ahead with a powerful right-footed shot from inside the area in the 12th minute. Marcos Alonso drew a penalty when Gazzaniga crashed into him when he rushed out to palm away Willian's cross to the Spaniard.

Willian scores a double in Chelsea 's 2-0 win over Tottenham

Gazzaniga's challenge on Alonso was protested against and the VAR awarded a penalty to Chelsea which Willian drilled to the bottom left of the post.

Willian was undoubtedly spectacular during the game, the Brazilian nearly inspired a third goal with a cross to Michy Batshuayi to finish but shot the ball just wide by a few inches.

"Today was bad, we didn't start well. Chelsea started better than us," Mourinho admitted. "They scored from a short corner and that disappoints me. We were not focused."

The game witnessed an episode of racism from Spurs' fans, but the suspicion was that it was aimed at Antonio Rudiger, who was roughly tackled by Son which the Japanese player was issued a red card for.  Son plays a vital role in Tottenham' attacking and his elimination somewhat was a huge letdown for Spurs.
