Premier League: Arsenal And Everton Play Goalless On Appointment Of New Head Coaches

As both Everton and Arsenal welcome their new head coaches, Carlos Ancelotti and Mikel Arteta, the two teams shared a point apiece during their match at Goodison Park.

Acting in the capacity of the newly-appointed managers in the goalless match was their assistance, Freddie Ljungberg (Arsenal) and Duncan Ferguson (Everton) whose side kept tearing through their visitors 18-yard box but could not make anything out of it all.

Meanwhile, Gunners came close twice with Gabriel Martinelli threatened Toffees' goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the first half and he saved Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's shot following a fast break.

Everton's Ferguson interim head Duncan will continue as assistant head coach Carlo Ancelotti who is also bringing his son also as an assistant

Ferguson will be back in his former position as an assistant on Ancelotti's assumption of duty at the club. Nevertheless, he has successfully led Everton to three league games without losing any except in the EFL Cup which he lost of Leicester City on penalties.

Before the appointment of Ferguson, Toffees were in a precarious situation struggling to come out of the bottom threes under former head coach Marco Silva. After Silva's removal, Everton have moved up to 15th position having gained five points from all the games played under Ferguson.

The stories are not the same with Arsenal under Ljungberg who has only won once in five league games since Unai Emery's removal. The new manager, Mikel Arteta was present in the stadium and watch his team play but will assume duty on Sunday when they will be playing at home against Chelsea.
