Mikel Arteta Completes First Deal Signing As Arsenal Manager

Harry Clarke, a protege of the Arsenal junior team, has been unveiled as the club's first signing under its new manager Mikel Arteta after agreeing to a new long-term deal with the club on Monday.

The England starlet signed his first professional contract with Gunners in 2018 and played a vital role in its Under-18s squad as a defender. In effect, the defender will be committed to the club for a much longer time.

Arsenal played a goalless draw with Everton on Saturday, the day after Arteta's appointment but the team was presided over by his assistance Freddie Ljungberg. Likewise, Everton's newly-signed manager Carlo Ancelotti was in the stadium whilst his assistant Duncan Ferguson led the team during the match.

"Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Harry on his new contract and we look forward to seeing him develop further," the club wrote on its official website.

The 18-year-old also announced his deal signing with the club with an update on his Instagram page, he wrote: "Proud to have signed a new long term contract with this great club ❤️ the hard work continues!"
