Massimiliano Allegri Addresses Link To Arsenal, Not Ready To Come Out Of Sabbatical

Massimiliano Allegri is not ready to come out of his sabbatical leave that he gave himself after stepping down as manager at Juventus in summer despite being shortlisted as one of the favourites to replace Unai Emery at Arsenal.

Gunners' performance is yet to be better even after the former manager was replaced by his assistance and their winless run extended to nine straight games in all competitions. Emery replaced the club's longest-serving manager Arsene Wenger in the summer of 2018 and won no trophies during his reign as the head coach.

Speaking to ESPN, the 52-year-old revealed that it was his desire to stay away from management for a season after winning five successive Italian Serie A for Juventus. Presently, he is not ready as he wanted to avoid performing below expectations.

He clarified that returning will be best for him next year when he will be able to make a good decision on his future but for now he maintained his stance that, "As soon as the relationship with Juventus came to an end, the decision was to take a year out."

Freddie Ljungberg is yet to win a game with the team and Arsenal have dropped in position to 10th after losing 2-1 at home to Brighton who for the first time won a game at Emirates Stadium.
