Liverpool Are Closer To Completing First Signing Ahead Of January

Ahead of the January window transfer, Liverpool, already are close to securing their first signing from Red Bull Salzburg in the person of Takumi Minamino who reportedly will be having his medical on Wednesday.

Liverpool began to keep close watch of the Japanese international for his contributions to the Austrian side performance by scoring for the side in 4-3 defeat to Reds before securing qualification for the Champions League Last-16.

Signing the winger is not coming at a break-the-neck as he has a release clause of just £7.25million in his contract with his club. Aside from that, moving to Anfield will be an advantage to the player as that will see his valuation leapfrog to what his peers are earning in the Premier League, and that will serve him as a platform to being scouted by European top-flight clubs if his performance improves.

The 24-year-old who joined Salzburg for less than £1million from a Japanese side Cerezo Osaka is expected to officially move to Anfield on 1 January after a deal has been completed.

Just as the winger, his teammate Erling Haaland has also been strongly linked to Manchester United and his move his expected to be completed by January. However, he will be leaving the Austrian side at much more cost fee as his signing his tagged to be at £76million.
