Lewis Hamilton Is Considering Of Switching Team In 2021

Lewis Hamilton is already considering what team he would like to drive for when he runs out of contract with Mercedes. He yet has a season to go in his deal with the team but he deemed it "smart" to be in his priorities now.

Mercedes has for six consecutive season won both the constructor and driver's championship title. The only time Lewis missed out in the streak was in 2016 when retired Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg lifted the trophy for the first time in his career.

Having to think about what is next and with what team does not mean Hamilton is not happy at Mercedes according to him but it is just a "wise" thing to do now that he has until 2021 in his contract with Mercedes.

"I love where I am, so it is definitely not a quick decision to go," he said. "So, it is only smart and wise to sit and think about what If it is the last phase of my career."

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff had once hinted at the chance of his driver joining Ferrari at the end of his contract and the six-time did not deny having links to his rivals, only that chances of him leaving might just be slim.

He went on to say, "For many years, I have never considered other options. We have been on our path and we are still on it and there very little that will shift it from that."

Hamilton finished the season with his 11th race win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. He reached the final winning pole position in the qualifying session.
