Ferrari: Charles Leclerc Signs Contract Extension
Charles Leclerc had a fabulous season with Ferrari in his debut with the team he joined from Scuderia to replace Kimi Raikkonen. The Monagasque came as a rookie from his previous team but his performance was felt and was a big threat to Mercedes team race dominance.
Since Ferrari were impressed by his driving skills and performance, they have offered to keep him longer in the team and signed him to a deal that will last until 2024.
Announcing the contract extension, Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto revealed that the team was really impressed by Leclerc in every races and it is their pleasure to have him in the team for yet another five years.
"With each passing race this year, our wish to extend our contract with Charles b4came ever more self-evident and the decision means he will now be with us for the next five seasons."
Leclerc won pole hattrick amongst which was straight two consecutive races win. During that streak landed him as the youngest Ferrari driver ever to win a race. He finished the season in the fourth position while his teammate Sebastian Vettel finished fifth.
"I am very happy to be staying on with Scuderia Ferrari. This past season, driving for the most illustrious team in Formula 1 has been a dream year for me," said Leclerc.
