EFL Carabao Cup: Manchester United Beat Colchester To Enter Semi-finals
Manchester United claimed a well-deserved 3-0 defeat to Colchester at Old Trafford to qualify for the semi-final of the EFL Carabao Cup.
Colchester put up strong defensive play against United. They stayed put in their half but after the break, their walls came crumbling down as Red Devils defiled all defensive antiques engaged and got ten minutes with Ryan Jackson's own goal sandwiched in between.
Marcus Rashford lashed on the ball to send it in flight into the net after a sensational dribbling skill to make his way past Colchester defenders to put United in the lead. Just five minutes later, Colchester's Jackson, unfortunately, got his foot to Mason Greenwood's cross aimed for Rashford and sent the ball in for an own goal that doubled the lead for United.

Juan Mata inspired the winning with a sweeping that cut out a couple of Colchester defender and went through to Rashford who cut it back to Anthony Martial to tap into the goal.
Also qualifying for the semi-final is Manchester City who trashed Oxford United 1-3 with Raheem Sterling scoring two after Matt Taylor had equalized Joao Cancelo in the 22nd minute. Leicester City narrowly made it through to the semi-final by beating Everton in a shootout (2-4) after the game ended in a 2-2.
United's qualification will be their 15th appearance in the semi-finals stage of the EFL Cup and extended home game unbeaten run to 12 consecutive games.
