EFL Carabao Cup: Aston Villa Eliminate Liverpool In Crushing Defeat
Liverpool have missed out on what should have been their first title bid after an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the EFL Carabao Cup.
Jurgen Klopp stepped aside for his Under-23 Neil Critchley presided over the team that predominantly consists of an average of teenager players not older than 19-year-old that did not end for the team as the hosts took turns hammering in goals with four in the first half and the winner after the break.

It came to a victorious end for Villa in added minutes of the second half when Wesley Moraes finished off a through pass from Trezeguet to wrap up the game.
"I thought we were magnificent. We were fantastic from the start, we had a couple of chances from the first whistle," said Critchley. However, he admitted Villa was the better side as he described their conduct during the game as "world-class".
Whilst the team was getting beat by hosts at Villa Park, Jurgen Klopp his with the senior team who are gearing up for the Club World Cup in Qatar and they will play against the Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday.
The defeat suffered today happened to be Liverpool's biggest since September against Manchester United and the four goals conceded in the first half were their first before the break time in any competitions since 2015 against Stoke City.
