Ed Sheeran Named UK's Number 1 Artist of the Decade

Just recently, Spotify named Ed Sheeran alongside an American hip hop artist Drake as the platform's most-streamed artists of the decade. Now, he has just added another accolade to his career in his home country, the United Kingdom.

Sheeran has been awarded the UK's number artist of the decade for by the Official Chart Company. The 'Thinking Out Loud' singer has stayed atop the country's chart between 2010 and 2019. 

"Thank you to everyone who's supported me over the past 10 years, especially my amazing fans," he told the Official Chart. "Here's to the next 10!"

The Suffolk singer has the most number 1s across the Official Singles and Album Chart of the decade with 12 #1s. He also has the most weeks #1s in the same category with 79 weeks.

"Ed truly has dominated this decade and is a worthy recipient of this amazing new award," said the Official Chart Company chief executive Martin Talbot.
