Chelsea's Transfer Ban Lifted After Appeal

Fifa transfer ban placed on Chelsea has been lifted following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport which reduced the sanction on the club by half on Friday.

The ruling will allow Chelsea to participate in the January transfer window and will be also to contend for the bidding of Borussia Dortmund's starlet Jadon Sancho with other interested top-flight clubs Manchester United and Barcelona.

Chelsea was served two windows ban by the football world governing body in February for breaching its regulations on players' transfer. The ruling would have remained until summer had the arbitration court not overruled it after an appeal was made to challenge the position of Fifa.

Blues have not been faring badly in the league as the are fourth in the table with 29 points despite the ban.  In the Champions League, they will have to win their last game against Lille to qualify for the knockout stages.
