Champions League: Tottenham Lose To Bayern Munich And Advance To Last 16

Tottenham have sealed a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League but lose their last group stage game by 4-0 to Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena to finish second behind the Bundesliga side in Group B

Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho had advised his men to forget about their previous 7-2 home defeat to Bayern, but would yet concede the game to the Germans who broke the deadlock early into the game and added two more after Spurs pull one back.

Bayern, from the start, mounted pressure on Spur with Serge Gnarby borrowing in and eventually set off Kingsley Coman with a pass he volleyed in for the opening goal. Spurs responded with Ryan Sessegnon leveling the scores, capitalizing on Jerome Boateng's defensive error smacked home a left-footed shot.

Ryan Sessegnon is the youngest Spurs player to score in a Champions League match

Thomas Muller who came in as a sub for Coman, put Bayern back in the lead finishing Alphonso Davies rebound shot on the brink of half time and former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho sealed the victory after the break with a superb curled shot.

The goal margin could have been wider but Gnarby's attempt from inside the box clipped the box and Muller's appeal for a penalty after his shot was a handball by Rose in the 35th minute.

Sessegnon's goal was his first goal Tottenham on his first start and became the youngest player, 19, ever to score in a Champions League for Spurs.
