Brendan Rodgers Extends Contract With Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers will be staying at Leicester City for much a longer time as he has penned his signature to a new contract with the club that will last until 2025.
Leicester are having a good start to the season and are in the second position behind table leaders Liverpool who lead by a two-point margin. Since their defeat to Reds in October, Foxes have won eight consecutive league games under the 46-year-old who joined the club from the Scottish side, Celtic FC.
"When I made the decision to come to Leicester City, it was because I was excited about the direction the club was taking," he said in a statement. "I came here with a purpose to add something to that and to help the club build for the future."
Rodgers was amongst coaches tipped as suitable to succeed Unai Emery at Arsenal after the Italian was sacked which is currently been managed an interim head coach, Freddie Ljungberg. He was also linked to Tottenham after Mauricio Pochettino was axed but the job was offered to Jose Mourinho.
