Arsenal Plan Raid Of Napoli For Defender Kalidou Koulibaly
For a while now, Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked to a Premier League move but failed to materialize and now Arsenal's manager Mikel Arteta is bringing that interest back, with a plan to a launch a move for the Napoli defender in January window transfer.
Koulibaly was once linked to Manchester United and the interest could not materialize as the Italian side demands for the Senegalese were not satisfactory for the English side. United later switched interest and went for former Leicester City defender Harry Maguire who was signed for £80 million in summer.
Arteta was appointed as Gunners' new manager after Freddie Ljungberg had acted as the interim head after former manager Unai Emery was sacked. To bring the team back to its past glories, the Spaniard thought it best to work on his squad's defense.
Arsenal, reportedly have been contacted to the player through a third-party and since the club management has made it known to the Arteta they are not ready for lavish spending in January, the Spaniard is hoping to let Sead Kolasinac to the Italian side to pave the way to signing Koulibaly.
Though Arsenal played a goalless draw with Everton on Arteta's appointment - the team was presided over by Freddie - but will be making his debut with the team against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
